1702 Small Fan-footed Wave (Wing span 15-20mm)

On the sea today 19 Common Scoter, 2 Fulmars, 51 Gannets, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 4 Little Terns, 37 Sandwich and 7 Common Terns were recorded. Also of note were 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 12 Whimbrel, 15 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Med Gulls, 2 Bearded Tits, 2 Sand Martins, 25 Swallows, 6 House Martins and a Stonechat.

Moths included a Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, 4 Least Carpets, a Small Emerald, 12 Common Footmen, 4 Brown Tails, 14 Scarce Footmen, 9 Ruby Tigers, 2 Dwarf Cream Waves, 3 Single Dotted Waves, 2 Kent Black Arches, 3 Smoky Wainscots, 23 Rustics, a Scalloped Oak, 2 Garden Tigers, 3 Uncertains, a Haworth’s Pug, a Swallowtail, a White-lined Dart, a Rosy Footman, 2 Dark Arches, a Cloaked Minor, Fen Wainscot, Knot Grass, 7 Large Yellow Underwings, 1 Archer’s Dart, a Nutmeg, a Southern Wainscot, Shaded Broad-bar, 2 Silver Ys, 2 Humming-bird Hawk Moths and a Latticed Heath.

Around the pond at least one Scarce Emerald was still present, and butterflies included Essex Skipper, Small Copper and Painted Lady.
