Highlights today were 3 Spoonbills on the beach, a Whimbrel flying over east and 2 Common Sandpipers and a Greenshank around the Broadwater.

In the moth traps today 4 Brown Tails, 2 Garden Tigers, a Pine Hawk Moth, Common Footman, 2 Mottled Rustics, Dark Arches, 2 Kent Black Arches, 10 Garden Grass Veneers, 1 Silver Y, 1 Flame, 3 Ruby Tigers, 4 Rustics, 1 Common Rustic, 2 Pine Marbles, 5 Scarce Footmen, 5 Large Yellow Underwings, a Scalloped Oak, Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing and a male Drinker moth were caught.

At least 5 Scarce Emerald Damselflies were at the pond today, with 3 Migrant Hawkers and 4 Common Darters also on the wing around the reserve.

Butterflies were numerous with Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Red Admiral, Green-veined White, Small White, Large White
