At sea 15 Gannets, 15 Common Scoter, 8+ Sandwich and 3 Little Terns were passing, with 7 Black-tailed Godwits flying east and 30 Curlew on the beach.

The moth day was hampered by rather poor weather conditions on Friday night, but in the Observatory traps the highlights were a European Corn Borer, 2 Smoky Wainscots, 19 Rustics, 7 Large Yellow Underwings, a Dunbar, 5 Common Footmen, a Latticed Heath, 8 Scarce Footmen, 4 Ruby Tigers, 7 Silver Ys, a Clay, 3 Uncertains, 2 Pine Hawk Moths, 4 Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, 4 Lesser Yellow Underwings, a Common Rustic, Coronet, a Brown-line Bright-eye, Fen Wainscot, Lesser Broad-bordered Yellow Underwing, Cloaked Minor, Single Dotted Wave, Riband Wave, Dark Arches, Silky Wainscot and Drinker Moth. Many thanks to those who attended and brought their moths.

Three males and a female Scarce Emerald Damselfly continued to stay around the Obs pond.

A few butterflies were still on the wing too, with Peacock, Red Admiral, Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown recorded.
