Highlights today were a visit from two more Crossbills in the pines during the morning, two Spoonbills on the Broadwater and a Bearded Tit from the Car Park Hide. A Grasshopper Warbler was also at the back of the NOA car park.

In the moth traps today 20 Brown Tails, 9 Scarce footmen, a Willow Ermine, 13 Common Footmen, 3 Riband Waves, 6 Dark Arches, 3 Ruby Tigers, 10 Garden Grass Veneers, 4 Silver Ys, an Early Thorn, Drinker, 8 Large Yellow Underwings, Mottled Rustic, 14 Rustics, 2 Cloaked Minors, Haworth’s Pug, Bright-line Brown-eye, Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, Rosy Footman, Clay, Smoky Wainscot, White Satin Moth, 2 Nutmegs, Least Carpet, 2 Common Rustics, Uncertain, 2 Dwarf Cream Waves, Lesser Yellow Underwing, Oak Eggar, Shore Wainscot, Round-winged Muslin, Lyme Grass, Kent Black Arches, Heart & Dart, Small China Mark, Painted Neb, and Tree Lichen Beauty.

At least one Scarce Emerald Damselfly was on the pond again today, and the male Southern Migrant Hawker was also hunting in the same area.

Butterflies included Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Ringlet, Red Admiral, Peacock, Common Blue, Small Copper and Small Skipper species.
