Holme Bird Observatory
for as little as 14p per day.
12th July 2023
Two Spoonbills spent the majority of the day on and around the Broadwater and two Crossbills appeared briefly in the pines by the Observatory building. A half hour seawatch produced counts of 270 Sandwich and 11 Little Terns, 2 Fulmars and a Great-crested Grebe. The moth traps produced 55 species including Rosy Footman, Lyme Grass, Archers Dart, Satin Moth, Kent Black Arches and Round-winged Muslin. Four Scarce Emerald Damselflies were again around the Obs pond. (pictured, courtesy of S. Francis)
