2031 White Satin Moth (Wing span 37-50mm)

A Spoonbill was on the Broadwater and a Greeshank flew through calling.

In the moth traps a huge catch of 96 species included a Lappet, Small Elephant and Elephant Hawk Moth, White Satin Moth (pictured), 12 Silver Ys, 6 Least Carpets, a Latticed Heath, 3 Scarce Footmen, 17 Common Footmen, 3 Buff Tips, 5 Smoky Wainscots, 8 Dwarf Cream Wave, a female Oak Eggar, 12 Dark Arches, Least Yellow Underwing, 5 Uncertain, Lesser Yellow Underwing, 33 Rustic, Poplar Grey, 59 Large Yellow Underwings, 6 Double Square-spots, a Kent Black Arches, White-lined and Archers Darts, Cloaked Minor, Brown-veined Wainscot, 4 Broad-bordered Yellow Underwings, Riband Wave, 4 Mottled Rustics, 3 Heart& Club, 2 Heart & Darts, 2 Dog’s Tooth, Small Fan-footed Wave, Silky Wainscot, Single Dotted Wave, 4 Fen Wainscots, Lyme Grass, Common Rustic, 4 Nutmegs, Barred Straw, Ruby Tiger, Small Emerald, 2 Sand Darts, Obscure Wainscot, Small Blood-vein, Clay, Dunbar, 3 Ferns, Southern Wainscot and Round-winged Muslin.
