Highlights today were 2 Spoonbnills, a Greenshank on the Broadwater, 4 Lesser Whitethroats, 10 Sedge Warblers, 3 Stonechats and 2 Bullfinches. A Nuthatch heard opposite the moth traps mid-morning was unusual.

In the moth traps a Common Emerald, 5 Bordered Whites, Dwarf Cream Wave, 6 Cinnabars, 13 Common Swifts, 2 Middle-barred Minors, Vine’s Rustic, 5 Garden Grass Veneers, 4 Sand Darts, a Peppered Moth, 5 Mottled Rustics, a Brown China-mark, 6 Dark Arches, an Uncertain, a Small Square Spot, 4 Large Yellow Underwings, a Barred Yellow, 4 Smoky Wainscots, 1 European Corn Borer, 1 Green Pug, 2 Marbled Minor sp, 1 Willow Beauty, 1 Setaceous Hebrew Character, 1 Straw Dot, 1 Fern, 1 Flame, 1 Heart & Dart, 1 Lyme Grass and a Delicate Moth (pictured).

Butterflies included 10 Small Heath, a Small Skipper and 10 Meadow Browns.
