A Spoonbill was on the Broadwater and a Barn Owl was hunting in the dunes early morning. A flock of 18 Black-tailed Godwits were present and 2 Cuckoos, a Lesser Whitethroat and a male Stonechat were also of interest.
In the moth traps a Haworth’s Pug, Bordered White, Diamond-back, 3 Willow Beauties, Common Emerald, Ringed China-mark, Buff Tip, 3 Cinnabars, 3 Barred Yellows, 2 Marbled Minor sp, 7 Vine’s Rustics, 5 Sand Darts, 7 Mottled Rustics, a Setaceous Hebrew Character, 2 Double Square-spots, a Brown Rustic, 2 Heart & Clubs, a Pale Lettuce Belle, 2 Dwarf Cream Waves, 2 Common Swifts, 2 Lyme Grass, 3 Small Square Spots, a Lime-speck Pug, Riband Wave, Common Footman, 2 Large Yellow Underwings, a Purple Bar, 2 Middle-barred Minors, a Heart & Dart, 2 Turnips, a Small Blood Vein, Breckland Plume, Common Plume, and a Marbled Orchard Tortrix.
With cloudier conditions the butterflies were scarce but a Small Heath, 2 Speckled Woods, 2 Meadow Browns and a Wall Brown were noted. A female Black-tailed Skimmer was also on the wing.
