There was no further sign of yesterday’s Blyth’s Reed Warbler, but 3 Crossbills were seen in the pines and a Barn Owl, 18 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Willow Warblers and a Lesser Whitethroat were still of note.
In the moth traps 3 Small Waved Umbers, a Willow Beauty, Middle-barred Minor, 8 Bordered Whites, 15 Cinnabars, a Small Elephant Hawk, Small Magpie, 3 Vine’s Rustics, Privet Hawk Moth, Purple Bar, 2 Small Blood Veins, 5 Mottled Rustics, 3 Heart & Darts, a Cream Bordered Green Pea, 2 Small Square-spots, a Turnip, 2 Marbled Minor sp, 2 Common Swifts, a Fern, Rustic Shoulder-knot, Buff Tip, Pine Hawk, Smoky Wainscot, White Colon and a Humming-bird Hawk moth feeding on Viper’s Bugloss flowers near the Obs centre.
