A Blyth’s Reed Warbler was found singing next to the staff car park at the west end of the reserve and remained all day, becoming more elusive but continuing to sing on and off. A Spoonbill flew east and 2 Sand Martins, a Chiffchaff, Willow Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat and 2 Stonechats were of interest.

In the moth traps a Fern, Common Pug, 3 Bordered Whites, 3 Heart & Dart, 9 Cinnabar, Cream Bordered Green Pea, 5 Sand Darts, 2 Treble Lines, 3 Mottled Rustics, a Dark Arches, Small Square Spot, Turnip, Large Yellow Underwing, 2 Marbled Minors, 2 White Ermine, a Lyme Grass, Common Marbled Carpet and a Vine’s Rustic were caught.

Butterflies were scarce but 4 Small Heath, a Common Blue, 2 Meadow Browns and a Red Admiral were seen.
