A hot and hazy day with some spells of hot sunshine, highlights were 200 Curlew, 37 Black-tailed Godwits, a Med Gull, a Turtle Dove and a Barn Owl in the dunes, 10 Cetti’s Warblers, a Willow Warbler, 8 Lesser Whitethroats, 7 Stonechats, a Grey Wagtail, 4 Bullfinches and a single Crossbill was again in the pines.

In the moth traps 17 Cinnabars, 4 Bordered Whites, 5 Ferns, a Cream Bordered Green Pea, 13 Green Oak Tortrix, a Buff Tip, Knot Grass, 2 Shuttle-shaped Darts, 4 Heart & Darts, 4 Willow Beauties, 4 Vine’s Rustics, 5 Common Swifts, a Sand Dart, 3 Heart & Clubs, 2 Light Brocades, 11 Mottled Rustics, a Flame Shoulder, Garden Carpet, Saltmarsh Plume, 2 Silky Wainscots, 2 Diamond-backs, Rosy Wave, Obscure Wainscot, Riband Wave, 3 White Ermine, Eyed, Small Elephant and Poplar Hawk, Green Carpet, a Shoulder-striped Wainscot, Small Blood-vein, 3 Turnips, 3 Lyme Grass, Dark Arches, Small Magpie, 2 Small Wavend Umbers, and a superb Golden Cinnabar.

Butteflies included Small Heath, the first Meadow Browns, Brimstone and Holly Blue.
