A Spoonbill flew through east and a Cuckoo was near Thornham. A Stonechat was on the east bank and a Lesser Whitethroat was singing on the reserve.

In the moth traps a Marbled Minor, Vine’s Rustic, Small Elephant Hawk, 2 Small Square Spot, Heart & Dart and Flame Shoulder were caught. Two Small Heath, a Common Blue, 6 Wall Browns and a male Brimstone were on the wing during the afternoon.

Two Azure Damselflies and 2 Large Red Damselflies were around the pond.
