Swallow Prominent

It was a pretty cloudy and windy start turning very hot again at 30 degrees at the Obs.

The highlight for me today was a Grass Snake in the village near Redwell crossing the road being pursued by a Song Thrush of all things! The Snake very narrowly missed getting hit by a car and then disappeared onto the roadside verge. There was a Dunlin feeding on the car park pools. The Swallow chicks are very close to fledging which means the parents have been working extra hard to bring in enough food for the five hungry chicks and today one of the meals was an unlucky Meadow Brown!
