Small Emerald Moth
It was a lovely morning with a gentle breeze which kept the temperatures bearable all day.
The best bird sightings were a pair of Lapwing with 2 chicks, 1 Avocet with 1 chick and a pair of Redschank with 2 chicks.
Last night’s moth trap contained:
15 Brown Tail, 2 Virtula biviella 8 common Footman 2 Crambidae indent. 17 Garden Grass Veneer 6 Piniphilia bifasciana 3 Dwarf Cream Wave 4 Sand Dart 1 Barred Straw 2 Schoenobius gigantella 4 The Uncertain 1 Ephesia sp. 2 Archer’s Dart 7 Heart and Club 5 Mottled Rustic 1 Cinnabar 1 Bird-cherry Ermine 1 Small Emerald Moth 1 Cnepharia sp. 1 Short-cloaked Moth 1 Isotrias rectifasciana 2 Dark Arches 1 Zeiraphera isertana 1 Evergetis extimalsi 1 Flame 1 Eudonia mercurella.
Futhermore, I saw 4 Ringlet, 6 Meadow Brown, 3 Painted Lady, 2 Cinnabar, 3 Admiral, 3 Small Heath, 2 Large Skipper, 1 Peacock, 1 White sp. 1 Small Copper and 1 Ruddy Darter.
