It started off cloudy, but conditions improved through the day, and by the afternoon the sun was out and it felt pleasantly warm, bringing a few butterflies into activity. I saw my first 3 Wall butterflies of the season.

Bird-wise, it was another quiet day, with a single Spoonbill on Broadwater and a Ring Ouzel in the dunes. Otherwise, I enjoyed listening to Lesser Whitethroats singing, while the Stonechats at the observatory were busy tending their nest and removing faecal sacs. There was also a flock of around 30 Linnets feeding on the grassy area next to the observatory.

Today’s moth trap yielded 3 Shuttle-shaped Dart, 8 Muslin and 1 Turnip.
