The wind had dropped slightly after the wild conditions last night, swinging more westerly today. We stopped first thing this morning to see the Great Grey Shrike that is just (literally just!) outside the HBO recording area at the Golf Course. En route around Redwell we had 2 Rook (a pretty good bird for the recording area) and 18 Siskin overhead. Later whilst in the NWT hide, we had 5 Sand Martin going west, battling into the wind. Two Swallow were reported at Gore Point and a female Ring Ouzel turned up in the dunes. Finally, some Spring migrants!

I then went to do some much needed strimming at Walsey in the afternoon. This time of year at Walsey is my absolute favourite, with the Chiffchaff singing and the Blackthorn in full blossom!

The moth traps were quiet as expected with the wind last night with 2 Powdered Quaker and 5 Hebrew Character.
