Powdered Quaker

It was another very windy day, turning pretty horrible in the afteroon! First thing this morning I spent some time recording around the Holme Village hides which are included in the Observatory recording area, they are a nice little walk from Holme Village with some good scrub and views over the grazing marsh/pools. We had some great views of a Water Rail out and about right in front of one of the hides. There were Bullfinch in the scrub and the Blackthorn was looking stunning in full blossom.

Around the Obs it was quiet apart from nice views of a pair of Crossbill whilst I was doing the moth trap! Due to the poor weather, I done a site visit to one of our other reserves, Hempton Marsh in the afternoon, delivering some seed and doing a general tidy up of the reserve.

In the moth traps it was quiet again; however, we did have a new species for the year, a Powdered Quaker! We also had 6 Hebrew Character and 2 Clouded Drab.
