Dotted Border

After the first Wheatear yesterday, we had our first Little Ringed Plover of the spring today! It was showing really well from the car park hide/NWT Hide 1 on the island pool and was periodically being chased off by an Oystercatcher. Otherwise on the pools there was a flock of Wigeon feeding amongst the grass, 2 Egyptian Geese, 1 Great Egret, 4 Avocet and 33 Brent Geese dropped in.

Quieter in the moth traps today, probably not helped by the windy and wet conditions overnight! However, still some nice moths and diversity for our first moth morning group of the year with 1 Early Grey, 1 Dotted Border, 1 Red Chestnut, 6 Hebrew Character, 2 Common Quaker, 1 Oak Beauty, 1 Early Reveller and 1 Mottled Grey.
