9th March 2026

Early Reveller

A really misty cold start with a south westerly wind. It has went back to feeling like winter! There are good numbers of Goldfinch around at the moment with smaller number of Greenfinch, Linnet and Chaffinch around the Pines. The White-fronted Geese were back again on the grazing marsh with at least 100 birds present and likely the same flock of approx 115 birds that were around over the weekend. They were showing really well from the car park hide. A Great Egret was sitting along the Broadwater.

More new spring species again in the moth trap this morning including 8 Hebrew Character, 2 Red Chestnut, 1 Dotted Border, 1 Early Grey, 1 Coastal Buff, 1 Early Reveller, 3 Clouded Drab and 1 Small Quaker.
