It has been another good day on the sea with 12 Eider, 4 Common Scoter, 27 Red-breasted Mergansers, 9 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 1 Great Northern Diver, 1 Gannet, 34 Cormorants, 29 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Red-necked Grebe, 1 Slavonian Grebe, 1 Arctic Skua, 5 Guillemots, 1 Razorbill, 1 Puffin and 1 Little Gull. On the beach there were 255 Oystercatchers, 13 Grey Plover, 13 Ringed Plover, 37 Curlew, 17 Bar-tailed Godwit, 4 Turnstone, 67 Knot, 38 Sanderling, 33 Dunlin and 1 Purple Sandpiper. Highlights around the obs include: 1 Firecrest, 2 Crossbills, 2 Siskins, 8 Chaffinch, 2 Brambling, 3 drake Pintail, 5 Tufted Ducks, 1 Goldeneye, 30 Blackbirds, 2 Ravens, 1 Hen Harrier and a Sparrowhawk. There has also been a Water Pipit seen at Thornham Harbour.

We briefly open a mist net this morning and caught 9 birds: 4 Goldfinch, 1 Blue Tit and 4 retrap Blue Tits.

Last night was a better night for moths with 7 Large Wainscot, 4 Rusty-dot Pearl, 1 Dark Sword-grass, 1 Oak Rustic and 1 Turnip.
