A good day for vis mig today with 7200 Starling, 127 Redwing, 19 Fieldfare, 4 Brambling, 3 Bullfinch and 183 Chaffinch. The Purple Sandpiper was hanging out with some Sanderling towards Gore Point. I used the NOA thermal camera to find the Jack Snipe from NWT Hide 1 which was proving impossible to see or find without it! I did eventually see it once it started preening. I also picked up a Water Rail skulking along the reedbed margin. At least 3 Crossbill were still around today. Two Firecrest were still around today too but were viewable and showing well from the coastal public footpath through the pines where it was much more sheltered today in this strong south westerly.

Ten moths today in the traps including: 2 Large Wainscot, 1 Silver Y, 1 Angle Shades, 2 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 Turnip Moth, 1 Shuttle-shaped Dart and 1 Black Rustic.
