Water Carpet

With the blustery conditions it wasn’t suitable for ringing again, so in the morning we birded around the Obs and prioritised continuing with and finishing the spring clean at the Obs, filling up the rest of the skip! We reorganised the wood store, ringing equipment and ladders, so everything is much more accessible now. A good job to get done and set us up for the season ahead.

We had two Crossbill (a beautiful male and female) perch in the pines from the NOA path today. We also had 2 Raven east over the grazing marsh before disappearing over the seawall/onto the saltmarsh.

We had a lovely pristine Water Carpet in the moth traps today, a Pine Beauty that took a liking to Ed’s binoculars, 3 Early Thorn and 7 Hebrew Character.
