It was another really blustery day at the Obs, with the wind taking its toll overnight relocating the bowl used for visiting thirsty dogs, a branch of one of our old Willow trees was snapped off and the bench had been blown over!

Despite the tricky conditions it was a good day for birds. When I was getting something out the shed, a Barn Owl came flying in from the Broadwater into the pines only a few metres away from me, close enough to see it was ringed! It then flew through the pines causing panic amongst the Blue Tits. On the sea 13 Long-tailed Duck went west. Just as we were finished filling out the daily sightings in the afternoon two Crossbill came and landed in the Alder tree right outside the Obs (and then later sat in the Sycamores next to the pond), and then two Spoonbill flew east! From the car park hide 27 White-fronted Geese were showing well.

No moths to report today sadly as I had to take in the traps yesterday due to the wind conditions.
