Pine Beauty
Another nice mornings ringing at the Obs making the most of the ringable conditions on my day off with 27 captures – 13 new and 14 retraps, including 6 Goldcrest, 3 Wren, 5 Goldfinch, 2 Robin, 6 Dunnock, 1 Blue Tit, 1 Cetti’s Warbler, 1 Blackbird and 2 Coal Tit.
There were 7 Snow Bunting at Gore Point this morning and also a surprise Red-breasted Merganser on the Broadwater.
A few new moths in the traps including 1 Brindled Pug, 1 Early Thorn, 2 Pine Beauty, 3 Dotted Border, 1 Clouded Drab and 4 Hebrew Character. We also had a new species for the reserve, a Pale Birch Tortrix!
