Spoonbill by Gary Elton
It was a bitterly cold and dreich day at the Observatory. However, that hasn’t stopped the birds singing with Skylark, Little Grebe, Stock Dove and Tits all singing today and even the Shoveler are starting to display! I’m glad someone doesn’t mind the weather… My highlight from today was two Spoonbill flying east over the grazing marsh, yay! My first sighting of them this year. I also had two Crossbill in the Pines by the Obs, they’re best picked up with some luck listening for their ‘chip chip’ calls. There were 43 Snow Bunting on Holme Beach at the Golf Course entrance.
