Norwegian GBBG
It was a really wet and windy day at the Observatory and not very pleasant at all to be birding in, I ended up not seeing very much (apart from the usual birds around) and getting soaked!
However, the Norwegian Great Black-backed Gull (colour ring – Black JT051) was still on its favourite bit of beach in-between Gore Point and the NWT VC. I got the ringing data back from the Norwegian scheme today and the gull was ringed as a chick in June 2013 in Arendal, Norway. The following year it made the 934km trip to hang out in Leicestershire, before not being seen for 3 years and ending up at Thornham Point in 2017! So not a stranger to Holme. Gulls are COOL!!!
