Another really early start in the hope of a similar day to yesterday but it was much windier than forecast so we only caught a handful of birds including 2 Blackcap, 1 Chiffchaff, 3 Blue Tit, 1 Meadow Pipit, 1 Chaffinch and 1 Goldcrest.

On a seawatch today we recorded 15 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Merganser, 6 Red-throated Diver, 3 Great Northern Diver, 11 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Fulmar, 46 Cormorant, 1 Sandwich Tern, 2 Razorbill and 70 Bar-tailed Godwit.

A Firecrest was around the Obs in the afternoon but then not seen again. There were at least 2 Crossbill around the pines. We had a distant Swift sp hawking over Thornham Marsh briefly mid afternoon but then was lost to view and not picked up again sadly. Whilst waiting for the Swift we had a Bat sp feeding right over our heads for at least 20 minutes.

One of the highlights of the day was a Clouded Yellow butterfly around the Obs! Quiet for species in the moth traps but good numbers dominated by 40 Rusty Dot Pearl! We also had 3 Narrow-winged Grey, 3 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 Large Wainscot and 1 Dark Chestnut.
