We had an early start today and opened the nets, we were rewarded with a Kingfisher on the first round, and a total of 47 birds. We caught 8 Goldcrests, 2 Wrens, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Coal Tit, 2 Meadow Pipits, 4 Blackcap, 1 Reed Bunting, 4 Blue Tits, 1 Stonechat, 1 Greenfinch, 2 Great Tit, 1 Blackbird and 1 Chaffinch. We recaptured 3 Cetti’s Warblers, 1 Wren, 12 Blue Tits and 1 Robin.

Other birds around the Obs included: 8 Crossbill, 1000+ Pink Feet, 10 Red Kites, 6 Buzzards, 1 Raven, 95 Brent Geese, 1 Mistle Thrush, 4 Fieldfare, 6 Redwing, 18 Blackbirds, 6 Chaffinch, 4 Greenfinch, 6 Goldfinch, 2 Siskin, 20 Meadow Pipits, 3 drake Pintail, 2 Water Rail, 1 Grey Wagtail, 280 Oystercatchers, 30 Sanderling, 90 Cormorants, 1 Purple Sandpiper, 1 Jack Snipe, 1 Waxwing and 2 Woodlark. 

We had a good number of moths today with 32 Rusty-dot Pearl, 9 Large Wainscot, 1 Light Brown Apple Moth, 1 Beaded Chestnut, 3 Large Yellow Underwing, 2 Red-green Carpet, 1 White-point, 4 Black Rustic, 7 Eudonia angustea, 1 Eudonia pallida and  1 Large Pale Masoner. Other interesting invertebrates included 6+ Common Darters, 3 Red Admiral and 1 Peacock.
