A quiet day with a moderate breeze and hazy sunshine. At least 24 Gadwall were on the Broadwater and 2 Sand Martins flew through, with 3 Common Terns passing west over the Broadwater and a Med Gull seen in Thornham Harbour.

In the moth traps a Pine-shoot Leaf Miner, 3 Sharp-angled Peacocks, 3 Rusty-dot Pearls, 4 Turnips, 4 Double-striped Pugs, 22 Common Wainscots, a Figure of Eighty, 4 Archer’s Darts, 2 Ringed China-marks, 6 Large Yellow Underwings, 2 Flounced Rustics, 2 Nutmegs, 4 Shuttle-shaped Darts, 2 Setaceous Hebrew Characters, a Cream-bordered Green Pea, Rustic, 3 Rosy Footmen, a Vine’s Rustic, 2 Garden Tigers, 2 Dingy Footmen, 2 Poplar Hawks, a White-line Dart, Copper Underwing, 2 Smoky Wainscots, a Straw Dot, Garden Pebble, male Drinker, Single Dotted Wave, 2 Yellow-tails, a Knot Grass, While Point and Scarce Footman were caught, with a Humming-bird Hawk moth on the buddleia.

Two Migrant Hawkers, 2 Common Darters and a male Southern Migrant Hawker were on the wing around the reserve.
