Brown Argus
On a seawatch this morning there were 404 Common Scoter, 1 Whimbrel, 12 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Greenshank, 2 Guillemot, 1 Little Gull, 2 Med Gull, 3 Common Gull and 35 Common Tern.
Nice variety in the moth traps today with 1 Common Wainscot, 7 Yellowtail, 14 Scarce Footman, 1 Poplar Grey, 5 Common Masoner, 1 Acleris laterana, 6 Uncertain / Rustic agg, 6 Dingy Footman, 1 Diamondback, 2 Small Fan-footed Wave, 5 Drinker, 2 Single-dotted Wave, 5 Rosy Footman, 1 Sharp Angled Peacock, 4 Garden Tiger, 2 Shuttled Shaped Dart, 1 Silver-barred Moss-moth, 2 Buff Footman, 1 Garden Grass-moth, 1 Lime Speck Pug, 1 Dog’s Tooth, 1 Fen Wainscot, 3 Bryotropha sp, 1 Bird Cherry Ermine, 4 Turnip, 2 Eudonia pallida, 1 Ermine agg, 3 Straw Underwing, 4 Rolled Grass-moth, 1 Shore Wainscot, 1 Large Yellow Underwing, 1 Reed Dagger, 1 Agriphila selasella, 1 Ringed China-mark, 1 Tree-lichen Beauty, 1 Setaceous Hebrew Character, 1 Least Yellow Underwing, 1 Dark Arches, 1 Common Rustic agg. Tree-lichen Beauty are one I look forward to every year, they’re just such a vibrant green colour.

There’s still a fantastic Wasp Spider around the pond, which is surprisingly difficult to spot even with it being quite a large yellow spider but well worth looking for. There has also been a Brown Argus around the pond for most of today too.
