Too breezy for ringing today unfortunately, but a good chance to catch up with annual reporting and time for general birding. A Black Redstart was showing very well west of the pines next to the NWT visitor centre. After that it was showing very, very well at the back of the NWT visitor centre and next to the NOA entrance gate/staff car park. It seemed to enjoy exploring all the different manmade structures including all the fences, cones and sheds!

Other highlights today include 3 Cattle Egret with the cows off the track this morning and 6 Avocet on the car park pools. The Tawny Owl was again calling from the Pines.

In the moth traps today we had 21 individuals of 9 species with 3 Small Quaker, 2 Diurnea fagella, 10 Hebrew Character, 1 Common Quaker, 1 Early Grey, 1 March Moth, 1 Mottled Grey, 1 Dotted Border and 1 Twin-spotted Quaker (below pic) which was new for the year here.
