Common Frog

A very mild day with a strong southerly that made birding challenging at times. A Peregrine was blown through over the Observatory this morning towards the beach. Two Greenshank were recorded, with great views of one in Thornham Harbour. One Ruff and 2 Black-tailed Godwit were on the pools near Thornham Harbour. Six Snow Bunting were between the golf course and Gore Point. Four Eider, 1 Common Scoter, 6 Red-breasted Merganser, 2 Red-throated Diver, 5 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Fulmar, 6 Cormorant, 3 Black-headed Gull, 4 Common Gull and 8 Herring Gull were recorded during a seawatch.

The mild temperatures meant that a few Common Toad and Frogs were on the move this morning, and the first Bumblebee of the year was seen.
