Norfolk Ornithologists Association - NOA

On the sea today 45 Common Scoters, 2 Gannets, 6 Little Terns, 17 Sandwich Terns and a Common Tern were counted. Waders included 6 Whimbrel, 50 Lapwings, 38 Curlew, 2 Black-tailed Godwits and 6 Turnstones. An Arctic Skua was also recorded. Around the reserve a Green Woodpecker was of interest, and on the Broadwater 14 Spoonbills and 4 Cattle Egrets were of interest.

In the moth traps a Latticed Heath, 6 Scarce Footmen, 8 Drinkers, 2 Uncertains, a Dingy Footman, 4 Ruby Tigers, an Oak Eggar, 3 Cloaked Minors, 3 Garden Tigers, a Buff Tip, 6 Rustics, 4 Large Yellow Underwings, 3 Dark Arches, a Bright-line Brown-eye, 2 Brown Tail, 2 Fen Wainscots, a Common Rustic, a Silver Y, Shaded Broad-bar, Archer’s Dart, Broad Bordered Yellow Underwing, Mottled Rustic, and a Humming-bird Hawk moth were counted.

Black-tailed Skimmer, Emperor and Migrant Hawker dragonflies were on the wing.

Butterflies included Essex Skipper, Brown Argus, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown and Peacock.
