Whimbrel by Ian Simons

Another day of strong north-westerlies, but there were some migrants of note with 4 Ring Ouzels in the dunes on the NWT reserve, 5 Cattle Egrets and 4 Whimbrel near the sea wall at Thornham, a Swallow, 2 House Martins, 8 Chiffchaffs, 5 Willow Warblers, 10 Blackcaps, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, 6 Sedge Warblers, and a Reed Warbler singing near the heli trap.

A single Muslin was the only moth in the traps, and 2 Green-veined Whites were on the wing in the shelter of the pines in the afternoon sunshine.
